Mumbai:Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee and wife Shabana Raza Bajpayee have joined hands with Helping Hand Charitable Trust to launch an initiative called Shramik Sammaan.
The initiative in collaboration with HHCT is aimed at generating employment for migrant labourers in order to help them financially post the lockdown period.
"I support Shramik Sammaan, the work that HHCT has done for the livelihood welfare of migrant labourers is very commendable. So I am very happy to join them. This initiative is the need of the hour. I request people to go ahead and support this initiative and donate," said The Family Man actor.
Elaborating on the projects, Manoj stated: "There are 74 projects on the cards. The plight of the migrant workers has shaken us all, and sadly, their struggle to make ends meet continues. This initiative is the need of the hour. It’s a holistic approach to managing the rural economy. I will also be involved in raising funds."

Seconding his thoughts, wife Shabana Raza Bajpayee said: "The Helping Hand Charitable Trust has done a very commendable job by launching the Shramik Sammaan. The objective of this initiative is to resolve issues at the grassroots level. I feel honoured to be a part of such an initiative."
The initiative is set to promote local, traditional and sustainable lifestyle. Reportedly, a cold-pressed oil extraction unit in Bhagalpur (Bihar) is one of the first projects to be unveiled under Shramik Samman followed by a mask-production setups in Mumbai and Faridabad and women’s tailoring unit in Uttrakhand, among several others.
