Laxmi Agarwal not happy with remuneration she got for Chhapaak?

Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor, whose life story is inspiration behind Deepika Padukone's upcoming flick Chhapaak is apparently not happy with the remuneration she received from film's makers, reports suggest.

Mumbai: Laxmi Agarwal is reportedly not happy with the remunerations that she is getting for the film rights of her story.

Earlier, when Deepika Padukone's look from Chhapaak released, Laxmi had expressed happiness as the makers were "finding beauty in an acid-burnt face."

"I was feeling good that a celebrity has come in that look. A lot of make-up artistes changed a natural face to acid distorted face after that (on social media). And I felt, 'see, they are finding beauty in an acid-burnt face'," Laxmi had said.

However, according to latest reports, Laxmi is not happy with the money that she has been paid as the film rights. She has been paid 13 lakhs for her story, if reports are anything to go by.

The same report also suggests that Deepika, who is also co-producer of the film, wants her to be paid fairly.

For unversed, Laxmi was attacked when she was all of 15. Over the years, she has been vocal about her experience and actively campaigns against acid attacks. Laxmi with her PIL had made the SC pass the bill to ban the sale of acid.

The movie, which is scheduled to release on January 10, 2020, is directed by Meghna Gulzar. It also features Vikrant Massey.
