Mumbai: The nightingale of Indian Cinema Lata Mangeshkar who recently clocked her 90th birthday has made her debut on Instagram on Monday.
The legendary singer has posted two pictures in a row on the photo and video sharing platform.
Sharing a picture of herself, she wrote: "Namaskar. Aaj pehli baar aap sabse Instagram pe jud rahi hun."
Moments later, the singer pinned another picture where she is seen sitting beside her sisters. Flaunting the cover of the book written on her life, she posed happily for the picture with her sisters.
Sharing the same, she wrote: "Namaskar. Kal meri choti behen Meena Khadikar ne mujhe uske dwara mujhpar likhi hui hindi Kitab 'Didi aur Main' ki peheli copy bhent ki."
Attaching the link to her newly made Instagram handle, the Lag Jaa Gale singer also tweeted the same.
Moments after she joined the bandwagon, her fans and admirers started following the singer.
Within hours the legendary singer raked nearly 50k followers on the photo and video sharing platform.
Lata Mangeshkar who began her career in 1942 has been a recipient of several awards including three National Film Awards, 12 Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards and four Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards.
