Lata Mangeshkar, Kangana Ranaut pay tributes to Swami Vivekananda on death anniversary

Taking to social media, veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar and actor Kangan Ranaut remembered 'great saint' Swami Vivekananda on his 118th death anniversary.

Mumbai: Playback legend Lata Mangeshkar and National Award-winning actor Kangana Ranaut have paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda on the occasion of his 118th death anniversary on Saturday.

Posting a black-and-white picture of Swami Vivekananda, Mangeshkar wrote on social media: "The one whom I obeyed as my guru since my childhood, he is Swami Vivekananda ji. On the occasion of his purnyatithi, I bow down to him."

Kangana, on the other hand, conveyed her respect through her social media team. "Each work has to pass through these stages - ridicule, opposition & then acceptance. Those who think ahead of their time are sure to be misunderstood. Remembering #SwamiVivekananda on his punyatithi. A great saint who dreamt of a modern India with Indian values & cultural heritage," read the tweet.

Earlier, Mangeshkar and Ranaut have also paid their tributes to the fallen heroes on Martyrs' Day.

Taking to Twitter, Bollywood's Nightingale wrote in Hindi, "Bharat mata ke veer sapoot Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev aur Rajguru ko aaj Shaheed Diwas par mera koti koti pranaam," alongside sharing her iconic patriotic song Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna.

On the other hand, Kangana on Martyrs' Day paid her tribute to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev by singing a song written by veteran poet Kaifi Azmi.
