Lata Mangeshkar asks Dhoni not to even think about retirement

Mumbai: Following the heartbreaking knockout of the Indian cricket team in the ICC World Cup 2019, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has requested M S Dhoni to rethink his decision of retirement from cricket.

Taking to her Twitter handle on Thursday, Lata wrote, "Namaskar M S Dhoni ji. Aaj kal main sun rahi hun ke Aap retire hona chahte hain. Kripaya aap aisa mat sochiye. Desh ko aap ke khel ki zaroorat hai aur ye meri bhi request hai ki Retirement ka vichar bhi aap mann mein mat laayiye."

The legendary singer wrote in her tweet that the nation needs a player like him while asking him not to think about retirement.

Speculations are rife that after yesterday's match Dhoni's will be taking a retirement. However, no confirmation has come from the former Indian skipper yet.

Team India's journey in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup came to an end on Wednesday as New Zealand defeated the blue army in the semi-finals of the tournament, shattering the dreams of millions of Indian fans.

The match, which went on for two days due to rain on the first day, didn't just leave the fans disappointed but also Bollywood celebrities. Even after a shaky start, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni's partnership got the team close to the score, but they still couldn't make it.

Many B-town celebs including Anupam Kher, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Riteish Deshmukh, Rishi Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda, Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, and Boman Irani, among many others, hailed team India for putting up a good fight against the Kiwis.
