Katrina to play leading lady in 'Satte Pe Satta' remake

Katrina Kaif has been roped in to play the leading lady in the remake of iconic film 'Satte Pe Satta'.

Mumbai: Ever since the announcement of the remake of classic hit 'Satte Pe Satta', fans have been waiting to know the actors who will be stepping into the shoes of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.

Earlier, Hrithik Roshan was announced as the leading man of the remake of 'Satte Pe Satta' while the female lead was speculated to be Deepika Padukone.

However, the latest reports suggest that the makers have zeroed in Katrina to play the lead alongside Hrithik.

According to a leading source, the makers were considering many leading ladies before finalizing Katrina to reprise Hema Malini's character.

'Satte Pe Satta' will be helmed by Farah Khan and produced by Rohit Shetty.

The film will mark the first-time collaboration of Hrithik and Rohit Shetty while Katrina is already shooting for Shetty's upcoming cop-drama 'Sooryavanshi'.

'Satte Pe Satta' released in 1982 featured Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Amjad Khan, Ranjeeta Kaur, Sachin, Shakti Kapoor, Paintal, Sudhir, Inderjeet, Sarika, Kanwaljit Singh, Prema Narayan, Mac Mohan and Kalpana Iyer among others.
