Hyderabad: Sunny Deol's son Karan Deol entered Hindi cinema with 2019 released Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. Directed by Sunny, the film failed to impress the audience and the reviews were savage and vicious. Few movie critics even sharpened their claws and dug deep into the Deols to insult the film to the point of humiliation. After an ill-fated debut, Karan, however, is all set to return to the screens as acting is something that loves the most.

After being launched with home production, Karan will next be seen in Apne 2 which will star three generations of the family, Dharmendra, his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol. Talking about his love for acting and continue to pursue career in films, Karan in a recent interview with a leading daily said that during the lockdown he recharged himself and got into a 'positive headspace to go another round.'

The 30-year-old said he was left on his own after the launch as his father wants him to learn from his own mistakes. "I've been taking all the decisions on my own. Dad said, 'You're your own person, take your own calls, learn from mistakes.' That's the only way. Especially with what happened, right after Pal Pal Dil ... there was the pandemic and we were restricted to our homes."

He also said that watching his old acting videos from film schools made him realise his love for acting. He said, "I was with my chacha (Bobby Deol), dada (Dharmendra) and papa.. there was the whole family vibe. I watched my old acting videos I did in film school. I saw how happy I was. I started acting because I love it, so I can't let anything put me down. It re-instilled confidence in me. Somehow through lockdown, I recharged myself. I got into a positive headspace to go another round."

Meanwhile, Sunny's younger son Rajveer Deol is set to make his Bollywood debut with filmmaker Sooraj R Barjatya's home production. After studying theatre in the UK, Rajveer has worked as an assistant director. He has been training under theatre and film director Feroz Abbas Khan. The film, a coming-of-age love story, will also mark the debut of Avnish S Barjatya, Suraj Barjatya's son, as a writer and director. It will be Rajshri production's 59th film.
