Bengaluru: Kannada actors Sanjjanaa Galrani and Ragini Dwivedi, on Friday, have declined to give samples of their blood and hair follicle to do the medical drug test.

Both were taken to KC General Hospital late for the test. They got into an argument with CCB officers and shrieked at them stating, "Why have you brought us here. Why are you torturing us."

The actors even opposed to give their hair samples saying that it will have a harmful effect on their glamour. After a squabble of about two hours, the CCB officers continued with the process and took their blood and hair samples.

The CCB had taken permission from the court to subject the actors to the drug test.

The samples will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory, Madiwala and Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad.

"Tests will confirm whether the accused had consumed drugs recently. Drugs like marijuana, cocaine, MDMA tablets, morphine and heroin can be detected in hair strands for up to six months," sources said.

Earlier on Thursday, Sanjjanaa had refused to give samples for the dope test. She put her foot down while the sample was being taken, mentioning that the CCB made her a 'bakra' (scapegoat) by bringing her to the hospital. She invoked her fundamental rights and refused to take the test.

"I have the right to say no, no one can force me to do the test," she said.

Sanjjanaa also said that her lawyer had told her it is her right to decline the test.

"It is my fundamental right to say no to the test, my lawyer has told me," said Sanjjanaa in a video which is going viral on the internet.
