Kalki pregnant with her first child, wants to deliver through water

Kalki Koechlin is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Guy Hershberg. She shared that she has started feeling changes in the way she used to react to things.

Mumbai: Actor Kalki Koechlin is expecting her first child with boyfriend Guy Hershberg. She is five months pregnant now has her due date in December. She is planning to deliver her baby through water birth in Goa.

She'll be moving to Goa by the end of this year and deliver her child with the help of a midwife, just like how her mother had given birth to her.

Kalki is now spending time listening to Guy's music, going for walks with him and doing yoga. She has also reduced the use of the mobile phone.

"I already feel the changes in the way I react to things. I am more deliberate, slower, more patient. When motherhood comes eventually, it brings with it a new consciousness to your sense of the person. I still want to work but it is less about the rat race and more about nurturing oneself through one's work. It becomes about infusing concentration and energy inward," she said.

Kalki opened up about her pregnancy for the first time in interaction with a leading magazine. Talking about what kind of a parent she thinks she will be, Kalki said, "I know that I want to be an engaged parent. My concern is to connect with my child, not to have a particular rule, or expectation.”

Kalki also has a beautiful concept when it comes to naming her child. She and her beau have already thought of a name that would suit both guy and a girl and won't be gender-specific. "I’ve chosen a name that works for either gender and that is representative of a gay person because I want my child to have that freedom of movement under the many umbrellas of gender that we have", said the 35-year-old actor.

If reports are to be believed, Kalki herself was born through the process of water birthing and hence the decision to give birth to her little one in a similar way. The actor has also reportedly decided the name of her child. The name is such that it works for both male and female gender.

Not to mention, 6 years back, Kalki was against motherhood when she was married to ex-husband Anurag Kashyap, however, she feels that over the years, she just happened to see life differently and realized the importance of a family.

On the work front, Kalki's latest is the ZEE5 original web series Bhram. The actor, who recently made her Tamil film debut with Nerkonda Paarvai, is currently prepping for another web series.
