Kajol, Karan Johar celebrate 22 years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released exactly 22 years ago, on October 16. The film, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji, continues to hold a special place in the hearts of generations of Bollywood buffs. To mark the special day, KJo and Kajol hopped on to social media and dedicated post to the most cherished film of their career.

Mumbai:Karan Johar and his best friend Kajol got nostalgic as their film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai completed 22 years today. The filmmaker and actor duo took to social media and revived "memories of a lifetime."

Whether it was Rahul's (SRK) dialogue of "Pyaar Dosti Hai" or Anjali's (Kajol) transformation from a tomboy to a beautiful woman, or Tina's (Rani) stylish college look, the film, which marked Karan Johar's directorial debut, is still remembered for several iconic moments.

Karan on Friday took to social media and went down memory lane and shared video of a throwback interview in which Kajol, SRK and Rani are sharing their experiences working on the film.

Kajol also hopped on to Instagram to mark KKHH's 22nd anniversary. The actor shared iconic dialogues from the film with animated twist. The videos will revive memories of cult dialogues when Anjali says, “Mera pehla pyaar adhura reh gaya Rifat bi" or "kuch kuch hota hai Rahul tum nahi samjhoge" and the one that triggers sweet fight between the iconic pair, "Rahul is a cheater, he is a cheater, CHEATER."

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released on October 16, 1998. The movie bagged several awards and received an overwhelming response from the audience and critics alike. Apart from the lead cast, the flick also starred Salman Khan, Archana Puran Singh and Johny Lever.

It was not only a big hit but also proved to be a trendsetter of the '90s. From cementing the trend of gifting friendship bands on Friendship day to SRK's 'cool' pendant and Anjali's bob-cut - the film had set the pace for many new trends.
