New Delhi: Janhvi Kapoor, who is currently prepping for Gunjan Saxena biopic has bagged yet another exciting project. The actress has been roped in for an upcoming horror comedy ‘Rooh-Afza’ opposite Rajkummar Rao.

The upcoming film, co-starring 'Fukrey' fame Varun Sharma, will go on floors in June 2019.

As per media reports, Janhvi will play a double role in the film and both her characters namely Roohi and Afsana will be contrasting personalities.

Earlier in December it was reported that the 'Newton' actor will play the role of a small-town goon whose plans go haywire when he has supernatural encounters.

This will be the second horror-comedy film for Rajkummar, who earlier starred in ‘Stree’ and won millions of hearts with his performance in the movie.

'Stree' received several awards at the recently-held Star Screen Awards 2018. While Rajkummar won Best Popular Actor (Male) award for the film and the movie won Best Film Award, the director of the film won Most Promising Debut Director award. The film also starred Pankaj Tripathi who earned the Best Actor Supporting (Male) award.

The upcoming film will be helmed by Hardik Mehta and backed by Dinesh Vijan and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. It will be written by Mrighdeep along with Gautam Mehra.

This marks the third collaboration of Rajkummar with Dinesh, who earlier bankrolled ‘Stree’ and upcoming film ‘Made In China’.

The film is all set to hit big screens on March 20 next year.

Apart from this, Rajkummar will be next seen in ‘Mental Hai Kya’, in which he reunites with his ‘Queen’ co-star Kangana Ranaut. He will also appear in ‘Made in China’ alongside Mouni Roy.

Meanwhile, Janhvi is currently working on a biopic based on Gunjan Saxena, India’s first ever woman IAF officer and will also be seen in Karan Johar’s multi-starrer ‘Takht’ alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Bednekar and Anil Kapoor.
