Trolls stoop to the lowest, issue rape threats to Indian skipper's daughter

Team India skipper's daughter has become the target of trolls following back-to-back defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand, in the ongoing 2021 Men's T20 World Cup.

Hyderabad: Troll army targeted the nine-month-old daughter of Team India captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor-producer Anushka Sharma after the Indian cricket team lost two successive matches, against Pakistan and New Zealand, in the ongoing 2021 Men's T20 World Cup.

One of the trolls stooped down to the lowest of low by issuing a rape threat on social media. The same has been pulled down by Twitter India following reports of abuse. The Indian cricket team is being trolled and abused on social media.

Kohli and Mohammed Shami are the ones who were targeted the most by online trolls. Virat stood up for Shami who was receiving communal hatred.

Earlier, it was Anushka who had to endure the irrational criticism for India's poor performance on the field. And now, the trolls have crossed all boundaries of decency and humanity as they target an innocent girl child.

Earlier in October 2020, Mahendra Singh Dhoni's daughter was also issued rape threats following Chennai Super Kings' loss to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2020.

Meanwhile, a section of social media users is also demanding stringent laws for verbal threats of rape and whosoever indulging in such acts should be put behind the bars.
