Government declares Saand Ki Aankh tax-free in UP

Saand Ki Aankh which chronicles the life of Shooter Dadis Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar has been exempted from taxes in Uttar Pradesh.

Mumbai: The Yogi Adityanath government has declared upcoming Bollywood film Saand Ki Aankh tax-free in Uttar Pradesh.

The film which features the Pink actor Tapsee Pannu and the Dum Laga Ke Haisha actor Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles took to social media on Tuesday to share the news with their fans and followers.

While the Mulk actress captioned the image: "Je baat!!!! Tax free in UP #SaandKiAankh," the Lust Stories actress shared the movie poster tagging her co-star Taapsee and the producers of the film.

The biographical film chronicles the life of Shooter Dadis Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar.

The grandmothers from Baghpat were both ace shooters who have earned accolades for their shooting skills.

The movie which is based on women empowerment and sports promotion has already been exempted from taxes in Rajasthan.

Popularly known as Shooter Dadi, Chandro Tomar learnt the art of shooting at the age of 60 years and went on to become one of the best shooters of the country.

Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Saand Ki Aankh is set to release on October 25, 2019.

Beside Bhumi and Taapsee, the film also features Vineet Singh and Prakash Jha in pivotal roles.

Penned by Balwinder Singh Janjua, the biographical drama is bankrolled by Reliance Entertainment and Chalk and Cheese Films.
