Hyderabad:Bollywood actor Taapsee Panuu, who is the best phase of her career, took home the Best Actor (female) trophy for the second year in a row. Reacting to her Filmfare win, Pannu has said that the film industry is finally validating her hard work.

The star-studded 66th Filmfare awards saw Taapsee starrer Thappad winning the maximum number of awards. The film won in the categories of Best Film, Best Actor (female), Best Story, Best Playback Singer (male), Best sound design, Best Editing, and Best Background Score. For Taapsee, validation from the film fraternity is important but no awards can top the heartening reactions that she received from the audience for her portrayal of Amrita in the film.

"Since Thappad's release, I keep receiving 'awards' in the form of so many letters, poems, messages, which makes me realise that I have already scored a special place in people's hearts with my portrayal of Amrita. Some of these heartening reactions came from the industry as well. No award can top that," Pannu told a leading webloid.

The actor further added acknowledgment of her hard work is a sign that the industry is now waking up to her presence. Tappsee said, "The acknowledgment from jury members, comprising of people I might not even know, tells me that finally the industry is waking up to my presence and validating that I am good. It is an acknowledgment of an actor's hard work," she muses, adding, "It's not just a year, it feels like I have worked hard for this for almost a decade!"

Pannu is currently busy prepping for the upcoming film Shabaash Mithu, a biopic on Indian women's ODI cricket team captain Mithali Dorai Raj. Besides this, Taapsee also has the mystery thriller Haseen Dilruba. The film has been directed by Vinil Mathew and she will share the screen with Vikrant Massey in the film. Her other upcoming film is Rashmi Rocket, which casts her as a long-distance runner.
