Hyderabad:Actor Farhan Akhtar has slammed a troll while clarifying how he received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at a drive-through center in Mumbai.

On May 8, Farhan took to Twitter and shared that he got his first jab against COVID via drive-through at the Andheri sports complex in Mumbai. Soon after the actor was attacked by a number of trolls who were curious to know how he managed to get vaccinated via drive-in since the facility is for the elderly.

When several netizens slammed the 47-year-old actor for managing to get the jab at a drive-in center meant for senior citizens, Farhan hit back and clarified his stance. Questioning Farhan, a netizen tweeted, "Another VIP brat @FarOutAkhtar gets out of turn vaccination at the drive-in reserved for 60+years senior citizens...Either he is 60+, physically challenged that we do not know off, or used his status for vaccination."

Replying to this, Farhan said, "The drive-in is for 45 + .. now do something constructive for society with your time like losing your phone."

Another user even asked Farhan to show the screenshot of booking for the slot, "If this is true then @FarOutAkhtar should clarify, show a booking screenshot. Else its the prominence over general availability and a case of prominent people having better access."

To shut down the claims of 'prominent people having better access', Farhan furnished a screenshot and wrote, "Thank you for @anubhavdps asking the logical question. This deserves a reply. Here you go .. #staysafe #staysane."

For unversed, The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on May 4 launched Maharashtra's first 'drive-in' vaccination centre at the multi-storey Kohinoor Parking Lot near the Shivaji Park in Dadar. The drive-in facility is for senior citizens, specially-abled, expectant mothers and other citizens who are not able to wait in queues at vaccination centres, said a civic official.
