Mumbai: Actor Swara Bhasker on Thursday took to social media to question the media trial and witch-hunt faced by Rhea Chakraborty, who is prime accuse in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case.

Reacting to the trolls, accusations and how Rhea is convicted by the media even before foul play could be established behind Sushant's death, Swara slammed media as well as the audience for consuming "poisonous hysteria."

Bhaskar wrote on her official Twitter account, "I don’t think even #Kasab was subjected to the kind of witch-hunt on media.. & media trial that #RheaChakrobarty is being subjected to! Shame on Indian Media.. Shame on us for being a toxic voyeuristic public consuming this poisonous hysteria.. #RheaDrugChat #SushantSinghRajput."

Swara is picking up media reports of almost all the leading publications and questioning how Sushant's case is being reported.

This is not the first time Swara has extended her support to Rhea. On August 10, Swara has said that Rhea is being subjected to a bizarre & dangerous media trial "fuelled by hugely problematic impulses of mob justice."

On June 14, Sushant was found dead in his home in Mumbai. At that time, Mumbai Police had concluded it was a case of suicide and investigated reasons that might have caused Sushant to end his life. Many conflicting theories have emerged since then, adding to the mystery. The case has been now transferred to the CBI.
