Dilip Kumar hospitalised: Doctor shares health update

Yesteryear superstar Dilip Kumar, who is hospitalised due to breathing issues, is stable. The doctor who is treating the veteran actor has shared an update on his health and said they are waiting for few test results to decide the course of treatment.

Hyderabad: Screen icon Dilip Kumar was rushed to a hospital in Mumbai after he complained of breathlessness on Sunday morning. The doctor who is treating the nonagenarian actor has shared an update on his health and said that Dilip is on oxygen support and not on a ventilator.

Scores of Dilip's fans and colleagues from the industry are concerned about his health and have been praying for his speedy recovery. While the actor is being treated at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai's Khar area, the rumours about his health are adding anxiety to the already worrying fans.

Quashing the rumours of Dilip Kumar being put on a ventilator, Dr Jalil Parkar, who is attending the actor has clarified that he is on oxygen support. Parkar's statement is shared on Dilip Kumar's official Twitter handle.

"Update at 11:45am. Dilip Saab is on oxygen support - not on ventilator. He is stable. Waiting for few test results to perform pleural aspiration: Dr Jalil Parkar, chest specialist treating Saab," reads the tweet.

Another tweet on Kumar's handle has come as a request to the media fraternity to verify updates shared on the official Twitter handle where Dilip Kumar's health updates will be shared regularly.

"Request to media: Millions of Dilip Saab’s fans look upto you for update on his health. You have always done a great job. Please verify from this Twitter handle instead of calling anybody who may not have direct knowledge," Faisal Farooqui, a family friend of the veteran actor posted on Kumar's Twitter handle.

The superstar has been suffering from age-related health issues in recent years. Last month, the 98-year-old actor was admitted to the same hospital for two days regarding some routine checkups and tests.
