Hyderabad: Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone has resigned as Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) chairperson. The actor has cited her slate of work as the reason behind her decision to step down from her position at MAMI.
On Monday morning, Deepika released a statement announcing her resignation from the post of MAMI chairperson. The actor, who served as the head honcho for nearly two years, has also said that stint at MAMI was 'enriching' for her and the connection she shared with the academy will last a lifetime.
Sharing the statement, Deepika wrote, "Being on the board of MAMI and serving as Chairperson has been a deeply enriching experience. As an artist, it was invigorating to bring together cinema and talent from all over the world to Mumbai, my second home."
