Hyderabad: After delivering a blockbuster like Piku, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone are all set for a reunion. The actors will be sharing screen space in Hindi adaption of Hollywood film The Intern.
As reported earlier, the film was announced over a year ago with Deepika and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor playing the lead. After Kapoor's demise, the makers looked for actors who fit the bill for nearly a year and have now signed Big B to essay the role which was played by Rober De Niro in the original.

Welcoming Big B onboard, Deepika took to Instagram and wrote, "What an absolute honour to be collaborating with one of my most special co-star again!💛 Welcoming @amitabhbachchan to the Indian adaptation of #TheIntern."
Talking about The Intern, Deepika had earlier shared that the film is an intimate, relationship-driven drama, set in and around the workplace. "A story that I believe is very relevant to the present-day social and cultural environment. I have been looking for a light, breezy comedy-drama and this story fits in seamlessly. I cannot wait to begin this journey," Padukone had said.
The Intern will mark Deepika and Bachchan's third union after Piku and recently announced Nag Ashwin's sci-fi film which also stars Prabhas. Directed by Badhai Ho helmer Amit Sharma, The Intern remake is jointly produced by Deepika's banner Ka Productions, Athena ENM and Warner Bros. India.
