Patna: Amid the growing public clamour over Sushant Singh Rajput's demise and the reported standoff between Mumbai and Bihar Police, late actor's father K.K. Singh issued a video statement. Singh in the video said that "the criminals are on the run" and also thanked Bihar government for their support during tough times.
In a short video statement, Singh said, on February 25 the family had reported to the Bandra Police that the actor was "not in good company" but they did not take any action.
"We lost Sushant on June 14 and even after more than 40 days, they did not take action against the name that we had mentioned on February 25. We reached out to Patna Police in distress and lodged an FIR. As the Bihar Police stepped in the case, the criminals are on the run now. We all want that the Bihar Police to get the required co-operation," said Singh.
According to reports, initially, even Bihar Police was a little apprehensive to register an FIR in the case, but they finally did so after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Minister Sanjay Jha intervened. In the latest video, Rajput's father also thanked both of them to help the family in emotionally trying times.

Sushant's father has accused six people, including Chakraborty, for abetment to suicide in his complaint (FIR number 241/20). Rhea's co-accused include her father Indrajit Chakraborty, mother Sandhya Chakraborty and brother Shauvik Chakraborty.
Sushant and Rhea were in a relationship before the actor's alleged suicide. Sushant's father has levelled several allegations against Rhea, including syphoning money from his son's account and also threatening to disclose his medical reports to the media if he carried out his plan of quitting acting and taking up farming in Coorg. Sushant's kin has also accused Rhea of keeping him away from his family.
Meanwhile, Nitish has expressed his displeasure over the way Bihar Police IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, who is in Mumbai to probe Sushant's death case, was treated by the Mumbai Police. Tiwari was forcibly quarantined upon arrival in Mumbai by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials. The Chief Minister said whatever happened with Tiwari in Mumbai is not right.
