Mumbai: Amid huge speculations of Aishwarya reuniting with Mani Ratnam, the actress has finally confirmed working with the filmmaker. The duo will be collaborating for a historical drama based on Tamil novel 'Ponniyin Selvan'.
According to a leading publication, Aishwarya confirmed the news at a recent media interaction. The 'Guru' actress said that she is happy and excited to work with his guru again.
The blue-eyed beauty also confirmed that she is already on board for the project.
Aishwarya marked her acting debut with Ratnam's 'Iruvar' in 1997. She has worked with the filmmaker in 'Guru' (2007) and 'Raavan' (2010).
The period drama will be set in the 10th century before Raja Raja Chola became a king. Aish will play Nandani, the wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, who served as the chancellor and treasurer of the Chola kingdom.
Reportedly, Aishwarya's character is of a mysterious, power-hungry woman who dominates her husband to plan the downfall of the Chola empire.
If sources are to be believed, south actor Mohan Babu will be seen playing Aishwarya's husband in the yet-to-be-titled film.
However, the official confirmation by the makers is yet to be made. Well, we can't wait for the gorgeous beauty to reunite with her guru for the intriguing period drama.
