Chitrangda Singh: I love handloom craft of Bengal

Chitrangda Singh, who is popularly known for her role in Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3, expressed her love for the Bengal handloom as she recently visited the City of Joy to shoot Diya Annapurna Ghosh's directorial Bob Biswas.

Mumbai: Actor Chitrangda Singh was in Kolkata to shoot for her upcoming film Bob Biswas. She made most of her stay in the town by going on a sari shopping spree.

The Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi actor traversed the length and breadth of Gariahat and Hatibagan, areas that are considered to be street shoppers' paradise.

"I absolutely love the handloom craft of Bengal," she exclaimed.

"It was one of the main reasons why I was excited about being stationed in Kolkata. I bought saris fashioned from Murshidabadi silk, Tussar silk and the famous Baluchari sari," added Chitrangda.

The spin-off movie that the actress is shooting for tells the backstory of the assassin Bob Biswas in Sujoy Ghosh's 2012 Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani.

Although the character of Bob Biswas was brilliantly performed by the Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee in the film, Abhishek Bachchan will star in the titular role of the spin-off flick.

Helmed by debutant director Diya Ghosh and written by Sujoy Ghosh, the film will be produced by Gauri Khan, Sujoy Ghosh and Gaurav Verma.

Apart from Bob Biswas, Chitrangda has a few interesting projects in the pipeline. She will next be seen in Soorma 2.

Earlier, Abhishek had shared a glimpse of his character Bob which featured his eye-glasses and a Motorola flip mobile phone.
