Chiranjeevi joins social media, followers count skyrocketed

With 24 hours of joining the social media, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi gained hundreds of thousands followers on both Instagram and Twitter. He marked his debut on the social networking platforms on Tuesday.

Mumbai: Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi is finally on social media and his following is, not surprisingly, phenomenal already. In less than 24 hours that he joined Twitter and Instagram on the occasion of Ugadi, the Telugu new year, on Wednesday, he has managed to gain mega numbers.

His Instagram handle, that goes by the name @chiranjeevikonidela, has garnered over 445k followers by Thursday morning. He started out posting a picture of him alongside his mother, followed by a video of himself. In the photo, he strikes a happy pose with his mother Anjana Devi.

His Twitter handle @KChiruTweets also saw a huge number of followers with hours of his debut. The followers' count reached nearly 142k by Thursday morning.

On Twitter, too, he posted the same picture with his mother as on Instagram.

"Home Time... Mom Time !! Let's especially take care of our parents and elders during this time. Send me your selfies with your parents/elders. #StayHomeStaySafe #UnitedAgainstCorona," he captioned the picture.

On Twitter as well as Instagram, Chiranjeevi introduces himself as: "Indian. Actor."

He appealed to all his fans to take care of the elders in the household in these trying times of coronavirus lockdown.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi hosted the reunion of the 1980s actors from the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi film industries in Hyderabad. Needless to say, the picture featuring south's top actors such as Chiranjeevi, Mohan Lal and Daggubati Venkatesh among others from the bash has taken over the internet!
