The netizens are trending #BoycottKareenaKhan after reports of the actor demanding Rs 12 cr to play Sita in an upcoming film went viral. While tweeple are trolling Kareena for various reasons, many have demanded to cast Kangana Ranaut as Sita in mythological drama.

Hyderabad:Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan is trending on Twitter as netizens are expressing their displeasure over the news of the actor being offered the role of Sita in an upcoming film based Ramayan.

The weekend has apparently begun on a sour note for Kareena as netizens are having a field day at her expense. #BoycottKareenaKhan is trending on Twitter after reports of the Omkara star demanding Rs 12 cr to essay the role of Sita in an upcoming film mythological saga.

While the tweeple are expressing their anger over Kareena being approached to play the iconic character from Hindi mythology, a section of social media users is pushing for Kangana Ranaut to play the part. Some even suggested that the Jab We Met actor should be roped in to play the role of Shurpanakha in the film.

While slamming Kareena for hurting religious sentiments in the past, social media users have also dragged in the Tandav controversy which landed Bebo's husband and actor Saif Ali Khan in trouble for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments.

The film is a retelling of Ramayana from Sita's point of view. Kareena, who usually charges 6-8 crores for her films has reportedly doubled her remuneration for the film which is titled SITA- The Incarnation. Directed by Alaukik Desai, the film is written by Baahubali writer KV Vijayendra Prasad while Manoj Muntashir will be serving as lyricist and dialogue writer.
