Box office: 'Kabir Singh' continues winning streak on day 2

After a magnum opening, Shahid Kapoor starrer 'Kabir Singh' has continued its magical run raking in Rs 22.71 crores at the box office. The movie earned Rs 20.21 on its first day emerging as the biggest opener of the actor's career so far.

Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor's latest release 'Kabir Singh' is creating havoc at the box office with astounding numbers. The movie which is a Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster 'Arjun Reddy' has turned out to be the biggest opener of the actor's career.

The intense love story minted Rs 20.21 on its first day following a jump on day 2 raking in Rs 22.71 crores. With the phenomenal opening, the movie has also found a place in the top five openers of 2019.

'Kabir Singh' which also stars Kiara Advani has received extremely positive reviews from both, audience and critics.

Shahid is praised for his nuanced performance in the film. Kiara too holds her own in the film which is largely a Shahid Kapoor's canvas.

The original blockbuster 'Arjun Reddy' starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles.

Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar, and Ashwin Varde, 'Kabir Singh' hit the screens on June 21.
