Hyderabad: Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan will be next seen in filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya's upcoming directorial venture. The septuagenarian actor will commence shooting for the film early next year.
Big B, who is busy shooting for the 12th season of popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, has also signed Ajay Devgn's directorial Mayday. While nothing much is known about his outing with Sooraj, reports suggest that he will be seen playing a family patriarch in Barjatya's film which will be on the lines of feel-good movies that Barjatya's Rajshri Productions is known for.

Rajshri Productions is also gearing up to reunite with their blue-eyed hero, Salman Khan. Sooraj, who has almost locked the script for a love story with Salman playing the lead will be rolling out the project in 2022. Earlier this year, Sooraj had said that as a storyteller he is spoilt by and obsessed with the Dabangg actor, so it is but obvious that he will work with the actor in his next.
Meanwhile, Big B's yet-to-be-titled film with Sooraj will go on floors in the first quarter of 2021. But before his film with Barjatya takes off, Big B has a busy year ahead with upcoming films like Chehre, Nagraj Manjule's Jhund, Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra and an untitled film co-starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. He also has Vikas Bahl's father-daughter drama Deadly in his kitty.
