Ayushmann Khurrana in Bhopal for Doctor G shoot - watch video

Updating his fans about Doctor G status, Ayushmann Khurrana took to Instagram Stories and shared a string of images of him boarding the flight from Mumbai to landing in Bhopal and receiving a warm welcome by a luxury hotel where he will be staying for few days.

Hyderabad: Versatile actor Ayushmann Khurrana is gearing up to commence shoot for his upcoming film Doctor G in Bhopal. The actor landed in the City of Lakes on July 12 and will soon be shooting for the film which is being helmed by debutante director Anubhuti Kashyap. The film also stars Rakul Preet Singh in the lead role.

Updating his fans about Doctor G status, Ayushmann took to Instagram Stories and shared a string of images of him boarding the flight from Mumbai to landing in Bhopal and receiving a warm welcome by a luxury hotel where he will be staying for few days.

Ayushmann will be starring in and as Doctor G which is a campus comedy-drama helmed by debutante director Anubhuti Kashyap, who is the younger sister of acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap. While talking about what drew him to the film, the National Award-winning actor had earlier said that he fell in love with the script of Doctor G instantly because it is super fresh.

"It is an extremely unique and an innovative concept that will make you laugh and also make you ponder. I'm excited to don the doctor's coat for the first time in my career and also deliver a message in the process that will hopefully speak directly to your hearts," Ayushmann had said.

Talking about her directorial debut, Anubhuti Kashyap had earlier said that despite being a campus comedy, Doctor G has elements that will appeal to the younger and family audiences equally. "I am stepping into my filmmaking journey with all my passion and this project has me thrilled to be on sets. I am looking forward to working with Junglee Pictures and the ever so versatile and talented Ayushmann. This film is definitely exciting because it appeals to both the younger and the family audiences equally."

Kashyap has in the past directed the dark comedy mini-series Afsos and the acclaimed short film Moi Marjaani.

Doctor G is written by Sumit Saxena, Vishal Wagh and Saurabh Bharat, who interestingly is a doctor-turned-writer and has drawn inspiration from his medical college life experiences. Saxena, who has written films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Karan Johar's segment in Lust Stories, has also penned the dialogues of this film.
