Mumbai: Bollywood actress Ananya Panday announced her new Digital Social Responsibility (DSR) initiative on Sunday.

The initiative titled 'So Positive' was launched on World Social Media Day to battle against online bullying.

The actress took to her social media handle urging people to stop spreading hatred on social media platforms. Sharing the same, Ananya posted a short video on Instagram and wrote: "This Social Media Day... Let's All strive to be 'So+' !"

The actress pointed out that social media has become the dumping ground for big-time hate.

Speaking about the derogatory remarks attached to her name, she said: "They wrote you are too thin... You have no talent and you are too tall. They wrote you are flying on your father's money... You are a product of nepotism. They wrote you need implants... They call me 'overacting ki dukan' and a fashion disaster. They wrote about my mom, my dad and even about my younger sister and my friends. They accused me of being a liar."

As per Forbes, India ranks highest with 37% of youth being bullied on social media.

Talking about the bullies, she said: "Just for a moment, I contemplated about who they are... They are nothing just faceless, unidentified and unverified newly created social media accounts... Social media bullies and I thought why me? Why would someone who does not even know me pass such nasty personal remarks? In the end, I realised its not me... It's not only me."

Through her video, she made a request to all social media users to create a positive atmosphere on the platform.
