Hyderabad: Legendary screenwriter Salim Khan, who has worked with megastar Amitabh Bachchan in more than ten films has said that the septuagenarian actor should take 'graceful retirement' now. Salim also said that Bachchan has had an outstanding career and must spend few years for himself out of the race.
Salim has expressed his views on Amitabh Bachchan's long-lasting career. In an interview with a daily, Khan said: "Amitabh Bachchan should retire now. He has achieved all that he had to in this life. One should keep a few years of life for oneself as well. Amitabh Bachchan has played a brilliant innings professionally. He has done good work so he must free himself from the race. He must take a graceful retirement."
Salim went on to explain why he feels that his Sholay leading man should slow down a bit. Khan said that the system of retirement exists so that a person may spend a few years living life according to his/her wishes. Giving an example of himself, the 85-year-old screenwriter said, "My world is limited now. All the people I go on walks with are from non-filmy backgrounds."
