Alia Bhatt teases fans with Gangubai Kathiawadi motion poster

Ahead of the release of the biographical drama, Alia Bhatt took to social media to share the motion poster of her next Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Mumbai: Actor Alia Bhatt on Tuesday teased her fans with a glimpse of her upcoming film titled Gangubai Kathiawadi.

The 26-year-old actor hopped on to Instagram to share the motion poster of the forthcoming biographical drama. The first look of the flick is set to drop in tomorrow.

The short video opens with a red dot which eventually reveals the title of the film Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film also stars Vijay Raaz alongside Alia.

Earlier, the Raazi actor had confirmed the news of bagging the titular role in the film on her Twitter handle. She wrote: "A name you've heard a story you haven't. #GangubaiKathiawadi This one's going to be special!! Directed by #SanjayLeelaBhansali, releasing 11 September 2020."

The upcoming project will see Bhansali Productions collaborating with Jayantilal Gada's Pen India Ltd for this film.

Based on Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, the story of the movie revolves around Gangubai Kothewali, a brothel owner and matriarch.

Meanwhile, Alia has a string of interesting projects lined up for the year. The Gully Boy actor is currently busy shooting Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. The film will also feature legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and the Sanju star Ranbir Kapoor in pivotal roles, alongside her. The Highway actor also has Mahesh Bhatt's Sadak 2 in her kitty.
