Ajay Devgn kickstarts filming Rajamouli's RRR

Ajay Devgn, who is cherishing the success of Tanhaji, has begun filming S.S. Rajamouli's period drama RRR today. The makers took to social media to share a couple of pictures from the sets.

Mumbai: Actor Ajay Devgn on Tuesday has kickstarted shooting for S.S. Rajamouli's magnum opus titled RRR.

The makers of the film have announced the news on Twitter and welcomed the actor on the film set.

The makers have also shared a couple of pictures on the microblogging site featuring the Bahubali director and the Singham actor in the same frame.

The post on the maker's Twitter handle read: "All of us are supercharged and ecstatic to kickstart our schedule with @AjayDevgn Ji today... Welcome, Sir! #AjayDevgn #RRRMovie #RRR."

The upcoming big-budget movie is touted to be a fictional tale of Indian revolutionaries back in the 1920s. It will be based on the lives of two legendary freedom fighters namely Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.

While Jr NTR will be portraying the role of Komaram Bheem, Ram Charan will be essaying the role of Alluri Sitharama Raju.

Bankrolled by D.V.V. Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainment, the film is expected to see its release in October this year.

Made in 10 different languages, the big-budget flick will feature an ensemble cast including Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody in key roles.

Besides them, N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay will also be featured in pivotal roles.

More than 70 per cent of the movie has reportedly been shot.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is currently basking in the success of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior which has hit the big screens on January 10, 2020.
