Aditi Rao Hydari opens up on casting couch and bullying that follows

Actor Aditi Rao Hydari has never shied away from shedding light on the existence of casting couch. The actor once again said that she is not the only one who has experienced it. But, she definitely is among few who have been vocal about it. Aditi has also given an insight into another tactic that people in power exercise is bully which according to her is even worse.

Mumbai: Aditi Rao Hyderi has spoken about the existence of casting couch even before the conversation around sexual abuse become a talking point in Bollywood. The actor has yet again stressed upon the need for cleansing of menaces like casting couch and bullying from the industry.

The Padmaavat star in a recent interview with a leading webloid has spoken about her latest Malayalam release Sufiyum Sujatayum and her creative process for playing a mute character in the film. She also shared her views on the ongoing OTT vs theatrical release debate. In a candid conversation, Hydari also spoke about casting couch and "not cool" bullying culture in the filmdom.

When asked about how did she managed to deal with the casting couch experience, Aditi came with a quick response, "Listen, it's not just me. There are enough people who had been in awkward situations. Some of us managed to get out of them without a problem and some of us don't. I was lucky I got out of it."

Aditi said that she found bullying that one has to face after not agreeing to people's advances is more problematic to deal with.

"People bully even after everything is sorted out. They start bullying you about various things," said Aditi who earlier had said that she lost work for eight months as she turned down people's advances chose to walk away.

Meanwhile, Aditi next will be seen onscreen in The Girl On The Train along with Parineeti Chopra and Kirti Kulhari. The mystery thriller is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and produced under the banner of Reliance Entertainment.

The film is a remake of the 2016 Hollywood film of the same name, which was adapted from British author Paula Hawkins' 2015 novel of the same name.
