Mumbai: Months after the series of controversies surfaced around filmmaker Subhash Kapoor, actor Aamir Khan who earlier opted out of the project has reversed his decision on working for the project.

The Dangal actor will be seen essaying the role of Gulshan Kumar in his biopic titled Mogul.

Earlier, Mr. Perfectionist took the decision to quit the film since the director was found to be involved in a sexual harassment case last year.

Following the incident, in October 2018, the actor issued a joint statement with his wife Kiran Rao, addressing that Aamir Khan Productions always have had "zero-tolerance policy towards sexual misconduct and predatory behaviour of any kind."

The statement further read: "It was brought to our attention that someone we were about to begin work with has been accused of sexual misconduct. So, without casting any aspersions on anyone involved in this case, we have decided to step away from this film."

However, the Thugs of Hindostan actor has now decided to work with the Jolly LLB director.

Confirming the news, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter: "IT'S OFFICIAL... Aamir Khan reverses his decision... Decides to work with director Subhash Kapoor in #Mogul... The Gulshan Kumar biopic will star Aamir in the central role."

More pieces of information related to the cast and crew are still under wraps.
