CES 2021: Sony showcased its latest innovations world's smallest drone, part of AI Robotics, Airpeak with new features at CES 2021.
For professional photography and video production, Airpeak looks like a good option. However, it will be launched in the spring of 2021.
- This world's smallest drone is capable of carrying a state-of-the-art Alpha camera system.
- Airpeak is capable of dynamic filming and precise, stable flight, and aims to contribute to the world of entertainment while also pursuing new possibilities for creative expression.
- Not many details have emerged from Airpeak but Sony is already using the drone to film landscape and city shots.
- The company also showcased @CES 2021, the Airpeak working as a chase camera for footage of its Vision-S concept car.
- The Airpeak model is a quadcopter design and features two landing gear extensions that retract upward during flight.
Sony originally announced the Airpeak brand in late 2020.
"In order to fully support the creativity of video creators, the payload of the drone can be equipped with an Alpha mirrorless camera to capture high quality, full-frame aerial photography, and video," Sony said in a statement during the CES 2021 on 12 Jan.

Virtual Production with Volumetric Real World Capture
Real-time virtual productions can happen with this new technology. Sets and locations of film and TV are captured as 3D volumetric point cloud data. Post this, they are processed and rendered with the use of Atom View software. Then these images are displayed on the crystal LED Display. As a result, productions can happen in real-time but virtually.
360 Reality Audio Music Production Tools
- Sony and Virtual Sonics Inc., a music software development company, have developed the 360 Reality Audio Creative Suite, a tool for creating 360 Reality Audio-compatible music that realizes a spatial sound field.
- It enables creators and artists to easily express their music in a 360 spherical field using their existing production platforms.
- Listeners can currently access approximately 4,000 songs in 360 Reality Audio from artists like Alicia Keys, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Noah Cyrus, Zara Larsson, and more.
