Amazon says latest wind and solar deals make it the world's largest corporate buyer of renewable energy

Amazon said it has become the world's largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy after signing agreements to purchase energy from 26 wind and solar projects around the world. Amazon's new projects, located in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Sweden, the U.K., and the U.S., will have the capacity to produce 3.4 gigawatts of electricity. The company didn't provide a figure for the cost of the projects.Read More.

Online COVID calculator will tell who must get vaccines first

Researchers, including one of Indian origin, have developed a new online calculator for estimating the individual and community-level risk of dying from COVID-19. The study, published in the journal Nature Medicine, revealed that the calculator will be useful to public health authorities for assessing mortality risks in different communities, and for prioritizing certain groups for vaccination as COVID-19 vaccines become available.
