Hyderabad: Millions in our country are facing the penury and deprivation as economic activities have come to a halt due to the coronavirus lockdown.

The lockdown has brought challenging days, especially in the lives of poor and under-privileged people.

A team headed by Kavya (Kavya means Sonet in literature) in Hyderabad took an initiative to take care of those who can't take care of themselves.

Her team travels around the bylanes of Hyderabad and provide food and clothing to those in distress. Most of the time they cater to poor people residing around areas like Lumbini Park, Koti Government Hospital, Secretariat etc.

They also look after mentally unstable, sick, handicapped, and poor daily wagers.

Sanitary workers who have been cleaning the city during lockdown are also given food, by this team.

Around 5 years ago, Kavya of Hyderabad, founded the NGO – ‘Feed the Hunger by KSK’, where KSK is the initial of her and her friends' names, ie., Kavya-Srikanth-Krishna.

Initially, they started feeding the poor near Gandhi Hospital, every Sunday. They also supported an orphange called ‘New Shelter Foundation’.

The costs of operating the NGO are borne by themselves and they also accept donations in cash or kind.

In the time of such distress, NGOs like ‘Feed the Hunger by KSK’ are nothing but a ray of hope for many who are living on the edge.
