Kerala: Four, including father, taken into custody for raping minor

Police have taken four persons including the girl's father into custody for raping a 16-year-old girl in Nileshwaram. The police have registered a case and have initiated an investigation based on the girl’s uncles’ complaint.

Kasaragod (Kerala):In a shocking incident, four persons, including the girl's father, have been taken into the police custody in connection with the rape of a 16-year-old girl at Nileshwaram on Monday, police said.

The incident came to light when the minor girl got pregnant. The girl’s father, a native of Sullya in Karnataka, was also involved in four other harassment cases, police said.

The other three persons taken into the police custody are locals.

The girl is said to have been taken outside Kerala and raped.

Based on the girl’s statement, her mother, the doctor who performed the abortion and others involved in the case would be interrogated by the police investigation team.

According to police sources, more people would be enlisted as accused in the case.

The police have registered a case and have initiated an investigation based on the girl’s uncles’ complaint.
