Jaipur: The Rajasthan Police on Monday arrested two civil defence employees in Jaipur on espionage charges.
The police alleged that Vikas Titoliya (29) and Chimal Lal (22) who work at the Army Ammunition Depot in Sri Ganganagar district in Rajasthan, had been passing information on to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency.
The police arrested the suspects based on inputs from Military Intelligence.
Speaking to ETV Bharat over the apprehension of the accused, Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Umesh Mishra said, "The two spies who have been arrested are quite vicious. The two arrested spies were in constant contact with Pakistani intelligence agency officials through social media. They were also given a fixed amount of money in exchange for passing strategic information related to military bases and military activities to officials of the Pakistani intelligence agency."

During this time, both the spies would also answer the questions asked by the officials of the Pakistani intelligence agency related to the activities of the army. Along with this, photos related to the military bases and their activities were shared through the WhatsApp itself to the officials of the Pakistani intelligence agency," Mishra said.
"The mobile phones of the two arrested spies have been seized and till now what kind of confidential information has been shared by the detectives with the officials of the Pakistani intelligence agency is being thoroughly investigated."
"Vikas deposited the funds from the officials of the Pakistani intelligence agency using the bank account of his brother, Hemant. When Rajasthan Intelligence inquired and questioned Hemant, it was obtained that he was not even aware of the work being done by his brother," Mishra added.
Reportedly, two arrested men were remanded in police custody till June 12 by a court here on Tuesday. Now both spies will be questioned by different officers of Rajasthan Intelligence.
