Hyderabad:Amid reports of billionaire George Soros dumping all of Tesla's shares, Elon Musk likened Soros to X-Men movie franchise villain Magneto played by English actor Ian McKellen. Musk sent out a tweet to this effect. Soros reminds me of Magneto, Musk wrote. The tweet comes on a day when Musk would be at the Tesla shareholder meeting scheduled for Tuesday (May 16).
According to Marvel comics, Magneto is the embodiment of the phrase “One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter”. "Magneto has dedicated his life and his extraordinary powers to defending the mutant species by any means necessary. He is a sometimes-foe, sometimes-friend to the X-Men, yet has always maintained his radical and separatist vision," it said.
George Soros, a global famed short seller, would have attended the Tesla shareholder meeting, if his hedge fund had not dumped all of its shares in the electric vehicle manufacturer. Multiple media reports cited regulatory filings of Soros Fund Management, the financier's hedge fund, and stated that it all Tesla shares acquired by it since the second quarter of 2022 were liquidated.
