Hyderabad:Despite the US pressure, Turkey received the first set of Russian S-400 missile defence system on Friday.
Turkey's defence ministry confirmed the news saying that the S-400 air defence system arrived at an air base near Turkey's capital Ankara.
Earlier, the US has warned Turkey of facing economic sanctions if it goes ahead with the purchase of the Russia-developed missile defence system.
Washington has also said Ankara won't to be allowed to participate in the programme to produce high-tech F-35 fighter jets.
Key Features of S-400
The missile system comes up with multi-function radar, targeting system, autonomous detection, anti-aircraft missile system, launchers and control center.
It can fire three types of missiles to from layered defence.
