"I do not ignore the threats of the Iranian regime but neither am I intimidated by them," Netanyahu said in a filmed statement.

The escalating war of words comes after an Iranian commander said any US attacks on Iran would trigger attacks on Tel Aviv and Haifa.

The comments were made by Yadollah Javani, a senior commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard at a rally marking the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, according to the IRNA state news agency.

"If they (US) attack us, we will raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground," Jawani was quoted as saying.

Israel has attacked Iranian military infrastructure in Syria and tensions between the two remain high.
