Tehran: Brushing aside Washington's threats Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday unveiled a long-range air-defense missile system 'Bavar-373'. It can recognize up to 100 targets simultaneously and confront them with six different weapons.
Introducing a long-range defense missile system, Rouhani said, "I hereby unveil the domestic long-range air defence system of Bavar-373 and I order that it join the country's air defence network."
The system can compete with Russia's S-300 missile system.
Since 1992, Iran has developed a homegrown defence industry that produced light and heavy weapons ranging from mortars and torpedoes to tanks and submarines.
