New Delhi: Days after the Taliban captured Afghanistan leaving the people of Afghanistan in complete distress and chaos, the Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid on Tuesday said that it does not have enmity with anyone and that all have been pardoned by the Islamic emirates by the orders of their leaders.
This was the first-ever press conference and public appearance of the Taliban spokesperson. Mujahid said that the security of foreign embassies is paramount to them, assuring the safety of foreign embassies in Afghanistan.
He also assured that there will be improvement in the country's economy and the people's livelihoods and that the Taliban are committed to providing women with their rights based on cultural framework of Islam. 'Women can work in the health sector and other sectors where they are needed," he added.
The statement comes in contrast to the recent reports of torture and rape of women in the embattled country.
Mujahid highlighted that Afghans have the right to apply rules that match the people's values, urging other countries to respect the rules. He assured the world countries that Afghanistan will not pose any threat to any country.
