Khan Younis: Israeli fighter jets carried out several airstrikes in the northern and southern Gaza Strip early on Saturday, targeting what the Israeli military said were a Hamas compound and underground structures.
In a statement, the military said the raids were a response to the projectile and incendiary kites that were flown Friday across the border.
Heavy plant machinery could be seen clearing debris in Khan Younis in the south of Gaza on Saturday, but there were no reports of casualties.
Meanwhile in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, dozens of people attended the funeral of 23-year-old Tamer Arafat, a Palestinian killed by Israeli fire on Friday.
