New Delhi:The Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) on Thursday discussed the fast-evolving security situation in Afghanistan with General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
According to a statement issued by Pakistan's Inter-Services public relations, Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was also present during the meeting, which focused on Afghanistan and the regional security situation after the US troops withdrawal and Taliban takeover.
"William Joseph Burns, Director Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), USA called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) & Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)," it read.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and current situation in Afghanistan were discussed.
