London: Jeremy Corbyn announced on Friday that he will not lead the UK Labour party into another general election following what he described as a very disappointing night for the main opposition party of the country.
"This is a very disappointing night for the Labour Party with the result that we have got," said Corbyn.
Corbyn's statement came after both the exit polls and initial official results showed a clear victory for the Conservative Party in the 2019 general elections.
A victory for incumbent Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Conservatives would mean that they will plow ahead with the Brexit dashing all chances of a second referendum over the issue.
