Trolleybus-tram crash injures dozens in Czech city

Over 40 people sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a streetcar and a trolleybus in the Czech Republic's second-largest city. Out of the 40 injured, condition of 12 is stated to be critical.

Brno: Authorities said a head-on collision between a streetcar and a trolleybus in the Czech Republic's second-largest city injured up to 40 people on Monday.

Firefighters said the crash on a busy street in Brno injured passengers on the bus and the streetcar was empty except for the driver.

Rescue service spokeswoman Michaela Bothova said at least 12 people suffered serious injuries.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
