Sarajevo empty amid Ramadan and lockdown

The government has eased some of the restrictions and ended the overnight curfew, but people are still obeying social distancing guidance and avoiding mass gatherings. Bosnia has reported 1,473 virus infections and 59 deaths.

Sarajevo:As the first days of Ramadan pass, the streets of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo remain virtually empty because of the coronavirus lockdown.

Normally they'd be buzzing with people breaking the fast at the end of the day, and enjoying communal dinners with friends and family.

The government has eased some of the restrictions and ended the overnight curfew, but people are still obeying social distancing guidance and avoiding mass gatherings.

Bosnia has reported 1,473 virus infections and 59 deaths.
