Russian FM on EU multilateralism, G7 and US

Speaking in Moscow via videolink at the 'Dialogue in the Name of Future Forum, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov criticised the European Union saying it imposed ideas on the rest of the world, and only worked with countries that "didn't ask questions.

He was speaking in Moscow via videolink at the 'Dialogue in the Name of Future Forum.'

He referred to Western countries as "the ideal of multilateralism," that only invites "those who are who are convenient for the West."

Lavrov made similar criticisms of the Group of Seven, and warned the US against adopting an isolationist approach, in which it would only obey collective decisions taken by international countries if they reflected America's interests.

"This can't be the case," he said.
