Bucharest: Romanian authorities announced on Tuesday that they have seized more than a thousand kilograms (2,293 pounds) of cocaine from a boat that capsized off the coast of the Black Sea last week.
Police and investigators released video footage and photographs from the seizure, which took place near Sfantu Gheorghe last Wednesday.

Officials from Romania's Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) said the drugs had a market value of up to 300 million euros (339 million US dollars), and that the shipment had originated from South America.
Two Serbian suspects were detained, police said.
According to Romanian authorities, the joint operation by the police, border police and DIICOT, signifies the largest drug seizure in three years.
